Interested in Working Summer Term?

New Employees will need to call (936-0617) for an appointment between 7:00am-12Noon on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 to schedule an appointment for Monday, June 2, 2008.

Returning Employees will need to call (936-0617) for an appointment between 7:00am-12Noon on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 to schedule an appointment for Friday, May 30, 2008.

  • Returning Lifeguards will schedule on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

Please do not leave a message for a return call. Your call will not be returned due to the high volume of calls. Thank you.

Application Process

Step 1: All new student employees must complete an application through the University of Michigan. Student applications are available through Wolverine Access under "Student Business." For complete instructions, download the document below. Go to Student Employment Step-by-Step (PDF)

Step 2: All student employees must complete the Recreational Sports Application

Open Positions:
  • Lifeguard
  • Entrance Monitor
  • Equipment Room Manager
  • Weight Room Manger
  • Building Crew
  • Membership Services Assistant
  • Machine Maintenance
  • Officials
  • Outdoor Adventures

Each of the positions with Rec Sports requires a dedication to the following customer service actions:

  • Engage members and guests at every opportunity
  • Pick up trash throughout the recreational sports facilities
  • Keep work area clean and organize
  • Return phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner
  • Be accountable and live be the “did you do what you said you would do when you said you would do it”
  • Practice fiscal responsibility
