What are the benefits of having a Rec Sports membership?
There are many benefits to a Rec Sports membership. Members
have access to 3 indoor recreational facilities with pools during drop-in building hours. Participation reduces stress and keeps you
fit.
You can work out before or after work, during your noon hour
and on the weekends. For a nominal fee, you can enjoy a variety of exercise and relaxation classes. Encourage others in your office to join and sign up a team to
play intramural sports or rent the climbing wall.
Can individuals buy a membership that allows access to just the pools or cardio/weight rooms?
No, our memberships provide access to all Rec Sports
facilities (3 indoor facilities with pools) for about 66 cents per day, depending on your membership.
We do not have an initiation fee or application fee so take
advantage of all of the facilities available to you.
Can I bring a friend who isn't a student or isn't a U-M employee to the facilities?
Yes! Guest passes are available for purchase and any member
is able to bring guests to the facilities. A daily guest pass is good
at all facilities for unlimited re-entries in a one-day period.
Limit four guests per member/per day. Guest passes are $10 per
day per guest. Members must be present at time of purchase to
receive the guest pass.
What forms of payment do you accept?
You can pay with check, cash or credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. Faculty and staff can use payroll deduction, provided the appointment is at least half-time.
Will I have access to Intramural sports with my membership?
Currently enrolled students, as well as faculty and staff who are
Rec Sports members, are eligible to participate in Intramural
Sports. Spouses, who are members, are eligible but must play
on the same team as their spouse. All other membership
categories are not eligible to participate in the intramural program.
As a faculty/staff member, can my spouse or children join as well?
Yes, spouses and children, up to age 25, are eligible to join for the
same duration as the faculty or staff member. Please check the "purchasing membership" in the left menu for details.
You may sponsor unlimited persons for a sponsored adult membership. Sponsored Adult members are not eligible to sponsor others for membership, including family members.
How do I use the facilities?
Your M-Card is your key to all recreation facilities. Once your
fees have been paid or your membership purchased, your
M-Card will be activated to allow access to the facilities. Your M-Card will be scanned each time you enter any building. It's
that easy!
When a Sponsored Adult or Alumni membership is purchased, the individual must obtain an M-Card at one of the following sites: CCRB Main Office, Central Campus Entrée Office, North Campus Entrée Office or Wolverine Tower.
How can I cancel my membership?
Yes, memberships can be cancelled a $25 cancellation fee will be assesse for non-perpetual memberships. If your membership is a perpetual membership,
there is a $100 termination fee for cancellation prior to your 12-month
membership renewal date. Students are not able to opt
out of the student fee.
Please call or visit one of our Business Offices or review your membership agreement for information on canceling your membership.
Where is my mail renewal letter?
We no longer do one large mailing
in the summer. We now do a "rolling mailing," and we mail expiration
letters to members approximately one month prior to expiration.
Can I renew on-line?
Yes! Choose "On-Line Registration" from the menu at left to
renew your membership. At this time, we do not accept new members through
our online registration system - new members must visit one of our facilities
to purchase their memberships.
