Mini-Soccer

Week 1
Nick Rooney

 

Nick does a good job working with players to explain calls and rules. He also had good foul recognition and excellent out-of-bounds mechanics. Keep it up Nick!

Week 2
Brandon Johnson

 

Brandon's communication allows him to keep games under control and help players better understand the game. He works hard with his fellow officials to improve the quality of the game.


Broomball

Week 1
Charles Machi

 

Charles has quickly developed sound judgement, good mechanics, and great preventative officiating. He is also developing his game management skills. Way to go Charles!


Volleyball

Week 1
Ashley Snyder

 

Ashley is an expert when it comes to rules. She has good court presence and her mechanics are top notch. She explains her calls and manages her games well. Great job Ashley!

Lauren Dawson

 

Lauren has good mechanics, great rules knowledge, and runs her games very smoothly. As the down official, she offers help to the referee when called for. Keep up the great work!

Inner Tube Water Polo

Week 1 & 2
Jim McGrail

 

Jim's greatest skill is communication with players, especially explaining fouls. He works well with other officials and is passionate about ITWP. Great job, Jim!

 

Basketball

Week 1
Randesha Dawkins & Harry Seplowitz

 

Randesha is being very assertive on the court, showing confidence in calling fouls. She executes the flex rotation well Randesha is continuously striving to get better, as well!

Harry has excellent foul selection and great communication with players, which allows him to maintain great game management. Harry is always asking good questions and trying to improve out on the court.

Week 2

Andrew Seid

 

Andrew takes evaluation feedback and turns it in to immediate results on
the court. He has great positioning and foul recognition, and is becoming a leader on the court. Andrew is getting good at judging advantage/disadvantage when it comes to picking fouls to call.

Week 3

Dan McDonald

 

Dan has learned a lot already in this short season. His foul reporting is spot on. Initiating rotations as the lead is one of his strengths. Above all else, Dan has expertly demonstrated that he knows, understands, and properly applies the SRS Rating System to challenging game situations!


Mini-Soccer

Week 1
Greg Sunstrum

 

Greg has quickly transitioned to Mini-Soccer! He expertly communicates to players and works well with his partner officials. Perhaps his greatest strength, is his sound rules knowledge and judgement. Keep it up!

Week 2

Kent Hice

 

Kent does a great job getting calls early in his games to establish control. He has good judgment on pushing and holding fouls. Great work, Kent!

Week 3

Taylor Hicks

 

Taylor hustles during her games to maintain proper positioning. She communicates well with players and is not afraid to make the tough calls.


Inner Tube Water Polo

Week 1
Ian Raxter

One of Ian's strengths is his preventative officiating. He constantly talks to players, calls accurate fouls, and communicates his calls. Ian's confidence shines through his loud voice and whistle. Great job!

Week 2

Alex Garbarino AKA Garbs

 

Garbs is in his final season of ITWP and making it a good one. He expertly talks with players to explain his calls. His whistle mechanics allow him to control the pace of games. Keep it up!

Week 3

Kelly Clark

 

Kelly has picked up this sport with ease. She works well with her partner officials and does a great job explaining her foul calls. Kelly even comes in to work at a moment's notice. Awesome job!


Flag Football

Week 1
Kelly Clark & Alex Davenport

 

Kelly displays great effort in every game she works. She is a very fast learner who is always in good position and communicates well on the fields.

Alex is motivated to learn! He is always asking good questions and is very motivated! His excellent hustle and mechanics make him an outstanding official.

Week 2

Tom Ward & Paul Jankus

 

Tom displayed great game management during a premier match-up early in the season as the Referee. He uses clear communication and signals with other officials and teams. Congratulations on qualifying for the National Tournament!

Paul has a very confident presence on the field. He uses and helps his partners effectively to carry out penalty enforcements and coverage situations. Paul also takes every chance he gets to ask questions and truly learn the sport. Way to go!


Week 3

Mike Steinberger & Anthony Leithauser

 

Mike shows good knowledge of positioning and mechanics. He communicate with players well, and uses preventative officiating to minimize penalties. Mike maintains his cool in high pressure game situations. Keep it up in the playoffs!

Anthony is always hustling to be in the best position on plays. He is developing strong mechanics, and his field presence has been improving. Anthony has also become very proficient at penalty and rules knowledge. Great job!



Broomball

Week 1
Josh Sayles

 

Josh's determination, willingness to learn and attention to detail are highlighted in every game he officiates. Josh has clean mechanics, good loud calls and keeps every game under control. Thank you Josh.

Week 2

Stu Zaas

 

Stu's preventative officiating and focus in high stress situations make him an outstanding official in every type of game. Stu's persistance with difficult teams and difficult calls keep his games safe and fun for participants. Thank you Stu.



Soccer

Week 1
Josh Bostwick

 

Josh has done an excellent job officiating all of his games this season. He has exceptional foul recognition and judgement. Josh's whistle mechanics are spot-on.

Week 2

Natalie Vandeven

 

A+ for effort and motivation to learn! Natalie is always asking questions and continuously strives to learn more about officiating. She properly enforces the policies of Intramurals. Congratulations Natalie!

Week 3

Ashley Shaheen

 

An outstanding attitude and effective communication are Ashley's greatest strengths. She has a good understanding of the rules and has developed exceptional foul recognition. Keep it up, Ashley!

Playoffs Week 1
Tim Lewis

 

Tim is very skilled in preventative officiating techniques. He always hustles to be in proper position and make accurate calls. Tim does a great job communicating to players, especially sportsmanship issues. Great work this season!


Softball

Week 2
Eric Smith

 

Eric's umpiring debut was a great success! Confidence glows through his outstanding level of communication. Eric has great judgement which helps him make accurate calls followed through with proper signals. Keep up the good work!

Week 3
Becky Marx

 

Despite working through sickness, Becky still brings her best every time that she works. Her game management, positioning, and judgement in calls are exemplary. These skills enhance her abilities as both a softball umpire and soccer official.

Playoffs

Austin Darket & Jordan Thieme

 

Two officials deserve the award this week for their outstanding work during the IAA Final. Both umpires were in proper position to consistently make good calls. Austin and Jordan both displayed professionalism and exceptional effort. Great season guys!
