Frequently-Asked Questions for Water Polo - Men
Who can join?
Any students can join but previous swimming and water polo experience is preferred.
Are there tryouts? If so, when are they?
there are no official tryouts. Those interested and serious about playing can show up to the first few weeks of practice (August 17-September 12) and see if they are a good fit for Michigan Men's Water Polo.
What is the best way to join? (Show up at practice? Contact an officer? etc.)
The best way to join is to come to practices and start playing.
How often does your club compete? (if at all)
The team competes during weekend tournaments (4-5 games per tournament) in adiition to a few individual games sprinkled on various open dates.
Are there club dues? If so, how much does it cost to join?
Club dues are $420 per person if paid during the first few weeks of practice; $450 if paid later in the season.
Does the club provide the necessary equipment? Or do members need to bring their own?
The club provides goals, balls, and caps; suits, goggles, and towels are the responsibility of each individual member.
