Frequently-Asked Questions for Field Hockey
Who can join?
Anyone interested, we welcome everyone of all skill levels. We have plenty of members who are completely new to field hockey as well as some who have played in tope divisions/national teams. If someone is thinking of learning/picking field hockey, this is the place to be.
Are there tryouts? If so, when are they?
There are no tryouts, indeed to join, you only have to show up.
What is the best way to join? (Show up at practice? Contact an officer? etc.)
We maintain an emailing list that sends out reminders on days that we practice so just letting me or Dan know you want to be on there should get things going.
How often does your club compete?
We take part in around 2-3 major co-ed tournaments a year. There are unfortunately no leagues for co-ed field hockey.
Are there club dues? If so, how much does it cost to join?
$15 a semester. Students who are currently registered with the school do not need to pay anything extra. However, faculty, staff and outsiders have to pay additional $60/semester if they are not a member of rec-sports.
Does the club provide the necessary equipment? Or do members need to bring their own?
Our club does have extra sticks but if you are going to be a regular player, I would recommend buying a personal one.
