Who can join?

Currently-enrolled students with valid M-Card, those with a Department of Recreational Sports membership and an M-Card or those that purchase a Club Sports Limited User Pass.

Are there tryouts? If so, when are they?

There are no tryouts to join the UM Aikido Club

What is the best way to join?

You may attend an introductory class any time at no cost and with no obligation. Our first class for the fall semester will be Tuesday, September 8th at 5 pm. Please arrive early to sign-in and wear loose, comfortable clothing preferably with long sleeves and long pants.

How often does your club compete?

Aikido is a non-competitive martial art; however, students may choose to test every two months.

Are there club dues? If so, how much does it cost to join?

For new members you may pay for just September ($20) and then decide to pay monthy or for the rest of the term in October ($60). If you choose to pay monthly October and November dues are $30, December dues are $20.

Does the club provide the necessary equipment? Or do members need to bring their own?

No equipment is necessary in Aikido. If members have an Aikido or Judo uniform, they should wear it to class.
