Frequently-Asked Questions for Sailing
Who can join?
Only undergrauate students at the University are allowed to compete. However, any student at the university with sailing experience is welcome to come to practice and help us train.
Are there tryouts?
We do not have tryouts. You do not need to have racing experience but we do require you to have sailing experience.
What is the best way to join?
The best way to join is to contact our social chair, Scott Pfeffer. His email is slpfeff@umich.edu.
How often does your club compete?
We basically compete every weekend in the fall and spring.
Are there club dues?
Yes we do have a team fee. It is $150 for each semester.
Does the club provide the necessary equipment? Or do members need to bring their own?
Yes we have the necessary equipment. If you have equipment of your own such as a life jacket or gear that you would like to use please feel free to bring it.
League/Affiliation
We are part of the MCSA (midwest college sailing association) which is a district of the ICSA (inter-collegiate sailing association).
